I received Every Day by David Levithan as a winning from Random Buzzers. This is an honest review.
Wow Every Day is so not what I was expecting, but in a totally good way. A switches bodies every day, and that means exactly what I said he or she is never in the same body for twice ever and it’s a little tough but this is the only life A has ever known so it’s normal and he or she is okay with it until Rhiannon comes along.
I’m not really sure how to describe A because it was not made known in the book if A was a boy or a girl but I kind of just went with he. I’m not sure why but from the very beginning that was my first instinct and I went with it. Either way I enjoyed A’s character, no matter what happened he was always hooked on Rhiannon from the day he met her he knew she was the one. He always wanted what was best for her even if it hurt him or the body he was in, and that I thought was pretty amazing.
My favorite character though was Rhiannon, and the reason being is because I saw a little bit of myself in her. The things that were going on in her love life I could relate. I could also relate with her feelings most of the time, which is what totally drew me into her character.
Can we just talk about switching bodies every day for a second? I cannot even imagine that happening. I would so not be able to handle it the pain of not knowing who I really was not having real parents or real friends would kill me and I’d probably just become this depressed person. I have no clue how A dealt with it! (as if he’s a real person!)
I’m not sure if this book is meant to be a standalone because by the ending I was very confused. Out of the whole book the ending is the one thing that I was totally not happy with! It’s crazy how things just abruptly ended and left me with my jaw hanging open. Sometimes that factor can be good but In this case I’m not too happy with it. (part of me thinks that’s because of my mood at the time of reading the ending but who knows)
Overall the book gets a 4 out of 5 stars because of the whole ending thing but If I had the chance to turn around and pick another book I wouldn’t because I really did end up enjoying this one quite a lot.

In meeting Rosa, Zachary is scorned by her opinion of the deprived. She pities him and provides a means for them to communicate. With time, friendship and something he’s never felt grows; love for another human. Knowing Rosa calls him when it suits her isn’t enough; he wants to meet her, but how? Relationships in Underworld are few, let alone the impossibility with those above the ceiling.
Underworld will suffer when plans to conquer Jupiter’s moon, Europa move ahead. Worse is Rosa’s father, a disgraced Overworld ambassador, approving the plan.
Meet The Author:
Imran Siddiq may have tried to leave Leicester a few times, but its become his place to wake up to two cats, freeze when the heating’s off and most of all, get down to writing. At a young age, his primary school teacher commented on his creativity and ability to tell stories. At the age of 29, during a night in the jungle, the bug inside awakened, and for the last 5 years he’s been sacrificing every second that he can to write. A veteran of writing festivals, a presence on Twitter and gobbling up all forms of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, he hopes he can bring a smile to others in the same way that he had, aged 5, reading with a torch under his duvet. Imran’s preferred genre is YA Sci Fi, and he has a tendency to throw a droid in every novel.

Breathe Tour: Author Interview
Breathe by Elena Dillon
Synopsis: Jasmine’s life wasn’t normal for a 16 year old girl. It hadn’t been normal since the murder of her older sister, Daisy, two years ago. Her life had been changed forever. The monster that murdered Daisy was never caught. That was the reason her family decided to move away from their hometown in Southern California, to start over. Hopefully in a place where the last name Rourke wouldn’t bring on staring or judgment or morbid curiosity.
In Lafayette, Louisiana things are quite a bit different but in a good way. Good manners, Cajun accents and a whole lot of Southern Hospitality all make her think things are going in the right direction. On top of that the most gorgeous boy she has ever met is interested in her. Her new friends are better than she could have hoped for even if she is worried about what they might think when they find out who she is. Life would be perfect if odd things didn’t keep happening. Creepy phone calls, texts, and flowers in her locker start adding up quickly to something terrifying. Could the Monster have followed them to Lafayette? Was he coming after her this time? Maybe she was just worrying unnecessarily…or not
Interview:
P: What is your favorite part of being an author?
E: I think it’s creating the characters. Coming up with their personalities and their little, individual quirks. I want to either love them or hate them , depending on their function of course. It’s the best part.
P: Have you always known you’ve wanted to be an author?
E: When I was a kid I always thought so. I had a pretty low confidence level when I was younger and even though I wrote, I never showed it to anyone. Then I got married had kids and was very focused on that. It finally just seems like the right time. So yes I was always an writer but I never really thought I would be an author if that makes sense.
P: In addition to writing do you also like to read? If so what types of books?
E: I LOVE to read. If I am ever asked my favorite hobby or past time, reading is first. I used to walk around my house as a kid with a book in front of my face. My mom laughed that I could come downstairs, pour myself a drink, get something to eat and go back up without ever stopping reading! I love so many genres. I read YA, chick lit, romance, classics, thrillers, and nonfiction. I don’t like anything to graphic or gory. I have too vivid imagination and I will get screaming nightmares so horror is a no go.
P: Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
E: Well I’m not sure I am qualified to give anyone advice in this area but I would say if you are thinking about writing a book make it a priority. Set aside time everyday or at least every week to write. Guard that time and don’t let anything get in your way. Also, whatever you want to write, read a lot in that genre. It will help you get a feel for what’s out there.
P: What can we expect from you in the future?
E: I have finished my second book, haven’t come up with the title yet. It is another Young Adult Romantic Suspense set near Charleston, South Carolina. I am planning on publishing that in March. I am starting my third book this month and I hope that one will be out in September.

Beneath the Glitter by Elle Fowler & Blair FowlerPublisher: St Martin's Griffin
Publication Date: September 4, 2012
Book Format: ARC
Number of Pages: 288
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received Beneath The Glitter from the publisher for my honest review.
Beneath The Glitter by Elle & Blair Fowler is such a great novel. On the back of the book it says if you liked the L.A. Candy trilogy you’ll like this book and that was so true, I loved that trilogy and I loved this book as well. The story is about two sisters, Ava & Sophia and they have moved to L.A. in search of fulfilling their dreams of starting a makeup company type thing. Throughout the book we see the sisters struggle with guys, sister fights and many other things but it ends up being very interesting and impossible to put down.
One of my favorite things about this book was that while reading it, I kept connecting some of the things in the story back to the two authors. A few of those connections are that the authors are sisters who moved to L.A. to fulfill their dreams and this is the same thing that happened in the book. Another connection I mad was that Sophia’s cat in the book is just like Elle’s cat in real life. I’m not sure why this fascinates me but it does!
Another thing I really enjoyed is that in this book their wasn’t really any “mean” people. In the L.A. Candy trilogy their was the mean girl Madison but in Beneath The Glitter their were just crazy obstacles not really mean people and that was good because I hate mean people in stories.
Characters lets talk about characters for a second. We have Ava who is a bit stubborn but she really does love her sister and animals. Sophia who is a bit I don’t think you would say controlling because that’s to big of a word well go with protective, and she has a heart of gold. You definitely have to read the book because reading about these two characters and all the sub characters was so fun! Watch out for Dalton he’s my favorite J
I’m trying to think of at least one thing I didn’t like about the book but I really can’t think of anything. Well actually I lied I can think of something, I hated that cliff hanger! What the heck! I need to know more!! Anyways J This story definitely gets a 5 out of 5 stars, I’m in love with it.
