ARC Review After The Snow By: S.D. Crockett
After the Snow by S.D. Crockett
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
**Spoiler Alert** After The Snow was a really interesting story. I liked the idea of reading about how someone would have to survive the winter all year long but also be on your own the whole time too. The only thing that I wasn’t to sure about was if it was supposed to be in the Future or in the past. I think the book said it was supposed to be in the past but near the end of the book they were talking about It being the second World War even though we’ve already had it.
Willo was my favorite character. He was a pretty strong character. He was alone throughout the whole story and he barley cried once. Most people would say he’s a guy that’s why he didn’t cry but he was a lone on a mountain during full blown winter and he had to feed himself and keep himself safe. I would’ve cried every too seconds.
At first I didn’t know if he was going to go back for Mary and Tommy. I was really glad when he did because I liked Mary I’m glad that they were together in the end. Oops little spoiler alert. Sorry guys.
I recommend this book to anyone who has the patience to read a story that has a lot of small details. I hope to read some more from this author in the future.

Review Daphne and The Mysterious Girls Bathroom Society By: Robert Shields
Daphne and The Mysterious Girls Secret Bathroom Society by Robert Shields
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Don’t be discouraged by the long title this book is really entertaining! This I have to say is the first book I’ve read about young witches and its really cool. There’s so many fun and interesting characters and you just cant stop turning pages!
My favorite character was Daphne who is obviously the main character. She’s just a young girl who get’s picked on really bad by the bully in this case Vi. I loved it when she learned about her powers and she started kicking butt! I’m actually hoping that there’s a second book so I can read more about their story.
Now you’d think that my least favorite character would be the bully Vi but it wasn’t it was actually Daphne’s best friend Lyla. The reason why is because she didn’t really seem like such a good friend. I mean she was nice and helped her out when Vi hurt her and stuff but when she learned she was a witch and was asking questions I just felt that Lyla was very rude. When someone’s learning something like that for the first time they’re going to ask questions and you shouldn’t be rude about answering them!
One thing I liked about this book was there wasn’t really any romance! And I never thought I would say I liked that because I love seeing the couples but it was like a breath of fresh air to not read about couples and all that stuff.
Overall I give the story a 5 for a plot and characters that really pull you in! I’m really glad I got the opportunity to read this book =)

Review City of Ashes By: Cassandra Clare
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
***Spoiler Alert*** Wow what can i say? I love this series so far and i love Cassandra Clare's writing but this just wasn't one of my favorites at all. Just because the book frustrated me so so much. I really hope it gets better in the next book.
Clary is a great character the only thing is she really needs to get her emotions straight! because in the beginning she's totally into Jace but then she wants to be with Simon and then at the end she's totally into Jace again even though she gets shot down? and for me as a reader its extremely annoying because i get so into the characters that every time Clary gets hurt by these guys it tears me apart to so you can imagine why it took me so long to read this book because of so much heartache!
I know it's kind of weird to want Jace and Clary to be together because their brother and sister but its a fairytale world so anythings okay right? In the City of Bones i was so for her and Jace being together but in City of Ashes i was really rooting for Simon which is why when he died a bunch of times i was very sad.
One thing i totally forgot about was that Alec was gay! When the stuff happened with him and the Mangus Bane i was totally caught of guard but then i remembered that in the first book he had a little crush on Jace!
I felt so bad for Jace though because his parents basically gave up on him and even though he has this tough guy no one can hurt me attitude he had to of been a little crushed. I mean Maryse didn't believe him when he said things she didn't trust him and then she kicked him out and had him taken away and put in like a cage i mean who does that? I'm glad that everything worked out okay for him in the end though.
Well usually my reviews are a bit longer but since this book frustrated me i don't have much else to say. Other then i hope the third book is a lot better!

Book Tagged!
So I've just been Book Tagged and I'm very new to this because i had no clue what it was before i was tagged so anyways here are the rules and beware because i had to tag 10 other people in my post so you might be one of them =) Here are the rules!
Rules:
1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create ten new questions to ask people that you have tagged.
3. Tag ten people and link to them on your post.
4. Let them know you've tagged them!
My tagger is Amber @ Du Livre A Book Reviewing Blog and here are her questions for me.
1. How many books do you plan to read in 2012?
Well last year I set my goal at 100 but i didn't make it so i shrunk it down to 75. This year my goal is again 100 and i hope to meet it this time!
2. Favorite book in a genre that you don't normally read?
Hmm that's a tough one. I'd have to go with Of Mice and Men which i just recently read. I don't usually read classical books much unless i have to or if someone recommends them. But yeah Of Mice and Men was really interesting.
3. What is your favorite bookstore/site?
Well my absolute favorite book store is Barnes & Noble because its literarily two seconds away. But there's a Used Bookstore down the street which i love a lot too because it's a lot cheeper and i can still find pretty awesome books.
4. What question would you ask your favorite author?
Wow um i would probably ask them what influenced them to write and what they do to keep themselves motivated. Which i have an extremely hard time with.
5. Where did you get the name for your blog?
Well i actually wrote a whole post on this but my books have always been my comfort zone. If i was ever upset, or depressed i would always pick up a book and it would provide me with comfort which is why i named my blog Comfort Books because all the books i read defiantly comfort me.
6. What has been your favorite book that a fellow blogger recommended to you?
Someone recommended me to read some Sarah Dessen and so i read Lock and Key and i really loved it!
7. Which memes do you participate in?
I participate in In My Mailbox, It's Monday What Are You Reading?, and Teaser Tuesday. I do a couple more but those are the ones i do every week no matter what.
8. What book are you currently reading? What are your thoughts so far?
Well i'm reading like 8 books right now but the one that is the best is City of Ashes by: Cassandra Clare. I'm almost done i have one chapter left which i'm going to finish after i write this post but anyone who hasn't read Cassandra Clare really needs to get on it because she is fantastic!
9. What's your number one pet-peeve in books?
My biggest pet-peeve is when books have really really long chapters because i'm the type of person who doesn't like to stop in the middle of a chapter i like to stop right on a chapter and it's hard to do that if you only have a certain amount of time to read and the chapters are huge so yeah!
10. Because it is Black History Month, How many books (that you've read so far this year) has had diversity?
Out of the 9 books i've read this year there was only one that had diversity in it, and surprisingly it was the really old one!
Now for my questions to the people that i tag =)
1. How long does it take you to read a book on average?
2. What's your favorite genre inside of YA?
3. Vampires? Werewolves? or Fallen Angels? and why?
4. How long have you been blogging for?
5. What is your favorite book turned movie or TV Series?
6. Out of the books you've read this year who is your favorite book couple?
7. How many days a week do you read?
8. Who are your top 5 favorite authors?
9. What is one of your favorite book blogs?
10. Are you a writer? If so how do you keep yourself motivated? If your not a writer how do you keep yourself motivated to read?
Here are the people i've tagged: (I just tagged the first 10 blogs i came across =))
1. Lisa's World of Books
2. Dazzling Reads
3. Sweeping Me
4. iLive, iLaugh, iLove Books
5. The Story Siren
6. Words Are Things
7. Candace's Book Blog
8. Hope, Love, and Happy Endings
9. My Keeper Shelf
10. Book Nerd Reviews
Rules:
1. You must post the rules.
2. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create ten new questions to ask people that you have tagged.

Review Saving June By: Hannah Harrington
Saving June by Hannah Harrington
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Saving June was not at all what I thought it would be. At first I thought this would be some sappy romance book and it wasn’t at all which I’m extremely happy about. Saving June is about a girl named Harper who looses her sister to suicide. Her parent’s who are split up decided to cremate her and split the ashes, but Harper doesn’t want them to do that she want’s June to be whole and happy. So she takes the ashes and goes on a road trip with her best friend Laney and Jake a guy who happens to know June. Together their goal is to make it to California and spread June’s ashes in the ocean. What an awesome goal huh? I’m so excited that I read their story because it was really inspiring.
Harper who is June’s sister isn’t like a typical teenage girl she’s sort of like the rebel daughter. She’s always being categorized as June and she doesn’t like that she can never be like June and even though she loves her sister she doesn’t want to. Harper was by far my favorite character even though she seemed like a Goth sort of girl she still had feelings and a spark sort of. My favorite thing about her is that even though she and her sister didn’t always get along she still risks everything to give June her dream of going to California.
Laney who is Harpers best friend is the type of best friend that is in every book basically which doesn’t bother me at all because she’s my favorite type of best friend. She’s the sweet always there type but also she has her own life and parties and does all the things a normal teen would do. She’s always there for Harper in every way and if I had to vote on favorite book best friend it would be Laney because out of all my friends I probably couldn’t get them to go to California with me if I needed to.
On to Jake now he was pretty mysterious throughout the whole book and I really enjoyed that. I pictured him as this hot guy whose into all kinds of music which is cool. I’m not sure about you guys but personally I wanted to see him and Harper together the whole time which is why when it finally happened I had to fight the urge to jump up and down. They’re such a cute couple they fit together. I wish I could say more but I’m really trying to cut back on spoilers!
Overall I give the book 5 out of 5 stars because It was fantastic. This was the first road trip book I’ve ever read before and I really enjoyed it. I recommend this novel to anyone who needs an to cry a little who needs a tad of steamy romance and an awesome best friend! I can say I’ll be picking up more road trip books and Hannah Harrington books in the future.

Review Of Mice and Men By: John Steinbeck
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
At first I wasn't sure if I'd like it at first because it is required reading for school but I actually really enjoyed the story. This book is about two men George and Lennie, who are poor and they need to get a job to save up some money so they can fulfill their dream of owning a farm. I know it sounds sort of boring and cheesy but like I said I ended up enjoying the series.
Lennie is my a man who has a bit of a mental issue. He can work and earn his money but he can't do much when it comes to using his brain. (I'm not saying that in an insulting way) Lennie is a sweet guy who just wants to work to get all of the money he needs to be able to tend the rabbits! You'd understand if you read the book and those of you who have should know because that’s a huge part in the book.
George is basically Lennies protector. They've known each other ever since they were kids. Even though George might not always have been so nice which you'll find out in the book. He looks out for Lennie now. He is the smallest out of the two but that’s okay because he only uses his brains really not much of his strength.
These two men get kicked out of where they worked before because Lennie didn't know what he was doing and he grabbed on to some girls dress and didn't let go even when she screamed. She accused him of rape and so they had to run away before they were caught. That is their back story, In the beginning of the book they start working at a ranch so they can make some money to finally be able to have the farm they've always wanted. Along the way though they meet some people and face some problems.
Some of the characters are Candy a sweet old man who just basically wants to work eat and live. Slim who is basically the respected guy buy all the other men he's sort of the leader. Then Curley who is basically the problem starter in the book he’s the bosses son and he’s always picking fights. Lastly there’s Curley’s wife who is also a huge problem starter in the book which you’ll find if you read the book!
I recommend it to people who just need a quick fun little book to read. It teaches some lessons and shows you what times were like back then which Is sort of cool to read about in these days.

1. Grab your current read.
2. Open to a random page.
3. Share two teaser sentences from somewhere on that page.
4. Make sure not to share spoilers you don't want to ruin the book for the others.
5. Lastly include the Title and Author so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR list.
Here's my teaser:
Of Mice And Men By: John Steinbeck
The old man squirmed uncomfortably. "Well--hell! I had him so long. Had him since he was a pup. I herded sheep with him." He said proudly, "You wouldn't think it to look at him now, but he was the best damn sheeo dog i ever seen."
Hahaha I know a quote from a school book really? But its the only book I'm reading right now that I hadn't already quoted from so I had to go with this one. I thought the quote above was pretty cute. What do you think? Share the links to your teasers below. Happy Teasing!

Book Blogger Confessions (1)
Morning Followers! How was your weekend? Did anyone watch the Superbowl? I did and i was disappointed but i'm still sticking by my team. Lets go Patriots! So anyways a few months back Karen @ For What It's Worth and Tiger @ All-Consuming Media started a new meme called Book Blogger Confessions. What you do is every 1st and 3rd Monday of every month theres a new question to answer and you just make a blog post and answer the question! You can check out there explanation of the meme here since its there meme!
So this week the question is: Deadlines for reviewing and blogging. Do you set them? How do you keep them? What do you do if you can't meet a deadline?
Since i'm a new blogger i'm still trying to regulate my scheduling and sometimes its very difficult. When i first started blogging i didn't realize how hard it was going to be to keep on track with all the books i would start getting. I've only been blogging for a little over 5 months and i've gotten so many books. At first i just tried to rely on my brain but i finally stopped and started writing things down and on calendars because i knew i couldn't fit everything in my brain.
Now i write things on my regular wall calendar, a virtual calendar and my phone calendar. Something that i need to work on is not accepting so many review books and signing up for book tours and ARC tours because right now i'm swamped! I have about 5 e-books that i need to read. 3 before they expire, two by the end of March and one whenever i can. Also I have a book for review that needs to be finished before early March so as you can see i'm not to good with scheduling! Anyways my blog is still young and i'm hoping to fix this and get better at in the future!
It's Monday What Are You Reading?

I'm hoping when i'm finished with this huge list that things will calm down a bit. So without further ado here is what I'm reading!
