Hello all! Sorry that this post is going up a little late blogger wasn't very nice to me this morning and it decided on it's own it didn't want to put the post up! Anyways today I have an interview with Jennifer Malone Wright author of The Vampire Hunter's Daughter! So before I share the interview let's learn a little bit about the book.
The Vampire Hunter's Daughter Part 1 by Jennifer Malone Wright
Fourteen-year-old Chloe witnesses her mother’s murder at the hands of a vampire. Before the vampire can kidnap her, there is an unexpected rescue by a group of vampire hunters. Overwhelmed by the feeling of safety, Chloe passes out and they whisk her away to their small community.
When Chloe wakes, she comes face to face with the only other living relative, besides her mother, whom she has ever met: her grandfather. Chloe’s mother kept her hidden from the family; now, Chloe tries to unveil the family secrets.
Through her grandfather, she learns her mother was a vampire hunter. In fact, her entire family is descended from the powerful bloodlines of vampire hunters. Chloe agrees to join the family she has never known for one reason only: Chloe vows to kill the vampire responsible for her mother’s murder.
With vengeance in her soul, Chloe is even more determined to follow through on her vow when she discovers the true identity of her enemy and how he is connected to her.
The Vampire Hunter's Daughter is the first in a series of short stories by Jennifer Malone Wright.
Now here's my interview!
P: What made you want to write about Vampires?
J: I have always loved the paranormal so it was only natural that vampires would be one of the things I would write about. My first novel, The Birth of Jaiden, has vampires and the idea for that book originated about ten years ago. When I was little, ghost stories were my favorite.
P: How long have you known you wanted to be a writer?
J: Ever since I was a little girl. Even in elementary school I wrote little stories. But, this one time our class made books out of cardboard and wall paper to make it pretty. We made our books and I forced my teacher to let me put it in the library. So I can safely say that being a writer is pretty much the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do.
P: The name of my blog is 'Comfort Books' so what is your favorite comfort books?
J: Oh, I love Nora Roberts! Nora has a bit of the supernatural in her books, but they are mostly romance. I just love her books because they make me feel good.
P: What advice can you give to other aspiring writers?
J: My best advice is to do a lot of research before publishing or looking for an agent or publisher. Make sure you get a good editor, and don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can’t do what you are doing.
J: Oh yes, I’m working on the continuation of The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter in a series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles. In this series we will get to see other characters perspectives, like Chloe’s mother and Christina, but still much more from Chloe.
