Blood of Anteros by Georgia Cates
Cruel circumstances turned Curry Brennan into the wretched monster he hates and refuses to accept, but when an expected turn of events releases him from the bond of his obsessive maker, he returns to the home he knew 161 years earlier and finds the return of happiness and joy in something he didn’t know existed. Puzzled by his growing attraction to Chansey Leclaire, a human, he is unable to resist the captivating relationship that threatens to reveal his existence as a vampire. He eventually discovers the reason he was destined to find what he didn’t know he searched for and is faced with the cruel realization that the living and the immortal undead will always be separated by one thing. Eternity.

Now here's the interview with Georgia Cates!
P: Where did you get your ideas or inspiration for these characters?
G: Most of my brainstorming/inspiration begins with music. I may have a general idea about a character or a scene, but it doesn’t solidify until I hear the music that makes me “feel” that characters emotions. When I experience those emotions, a physical scene like a movie develops in my head.
P: What is different about THE BLOOD OF ANTEROS compared to other vampire stories?
G: Blood of Anteros is written in First Person Point of View through the voice of the lead male vampire of the story. Although that isn’t unheard of, it certainly isn’t usual and the reader gets to see the relationship develop through the eyes of the male vampire as opposed to the usual female heroine. He becomes so much more endearing because the reader sees the unconditional love he has for Chansey and the anguish he is willing to endure to keep her safe from what he considers most dangerous for her...himself.
P: Which character do you like writing the most and why?
G: Curry is by far my favorite. Blood of Anteros is written from his point of view and I had such wonderful time portraying his thoughts and emotions because his love for Chansey is so real and so pure. Every woman wants to be loved the way Curry loves Chansey.
P: What response to this book from readers has surprised you the most?
G: I received my most surprising reaction last week. I received an email from a reader that told me she was ill and had to take chemotherapy. She wanted to thank me for writing because my books helped her escape her reality. I never really thought about how my books effect people. Sure, I want them to be great and I want readers to enjoy them but I never gave much thought to how my words truly become a part of that reader’s mind, time and emotions. She made me think more about the way I write and I’m so thankful she reached out to me because I believe I will be a better writer because of it.
P: What do you like to do when you are not writing?
G: Hold your jaw because it’s about to drop. I love to read when I’m not writing. Imagine that. I’m partial to Indies so my reading choices are almost always going to be writers like myself. There’s so many wonderful treasures waiting to be discovered.
But...reading is such an underwhelming answer for that question so I’m going to give you an answer with a little more exhilaration. I’m a stalker. When I go to concerts, I lurk around until I find the bus and hang out so I can get my picture made with the band I came to see. It’s easier than you think.

I think it is kind of cool how music inspired her characters. :)
